Natural habitat: Riverine forests, grasslands and swaps
Natural foods: Grass, plants and they also chew the bark off trees to get minerals
Life expectancy: 15 years in the wild and 25 years in captivity
Other comments: Water Buffalo are found primarily in tropical and subtropical parts of Asia. In the warmer weather they spend a lot of time in water, where their extra wide hooves prevent them from sinking into the mud. In thunderstorms they can be seen running and jumping into water, where they feel safe.
