Species: Macropus rufus
Common Name: Albino Red Kangaroo
Natural habitat: Central Australian dessert.
Natural foods: Grasses and shrubs.
Life expectancy: 46 years
Other comments: The Albino condition is caused by a genetic defect in which all pigment in the skin is lost and also results in the animal forming red eyes. Despite their condition, they behave quite similar to a healthy Red Kangaroo however they can experience some eye-sight problems. The Red Kangaroo is the biggest of all Kangaroo’s. A full grown male can stand up to 2 meters tall and weigh up to 90kg.
