Species: Lama glama
Common Name: Llama
Natural habitat: South American grasslands and mountain rangers.
Natural foods: Grass, shrubs and vegetables.
Other comments: Originated from central plains of North America. They can carry about 25-30% of their own body weight for several months. Fights between lamas commonly occur to establish the alpha male. Fight tactics include spitting, ramming with chests, wrestling and kicking. The distinctive mating song of the males sounds like a deep gargle and can last for several hours.
